[IRCA] CFWB-1490 Campbell River BC to move to 99.7 MHz FM
Last year the move of CFWB-1490 to FM was approved by the CRTC however
they were required to find another frequency as their proposed use
of 106.1 was denied.
There use of 99.7 MHz, 6kW, has now been approved so I expect
that they will be gone from AM in the not too distant future.

Use of frequency 99.7 MHz by the new FM radio station in Campbell River
1.
The Commission approves the application by Vista Radio Ltd.
to operate its new English-language commercial FM radio programming
undertaking in Campbell River at 99.7 MHz (channel 259A) with an
effective radiated power (ERP) of 6,000 watts. The applicant had
originally proposed to operate its new station at 106.1 MHz
(channel 291B) with an average ERP of 663 watts.
2.
The applicant filed this application further to the Commission’s
direction in CFWB Campbell River, British Columbia – Conversion
to FM band, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-343, 30 August 2007.
In that decision, the Commission stated that it would only issue
a licence for this station provided that the applicant submitted,
within three months of the date of that decision, an amendment to
its application proposing the use of an FM frequency and technical
parameters that are acceptable to both the Commission and the
Department of Industry (the Department).
