Re: [IRCA] SRF-39 Versus SRF-59

Hi Bill:

Forgot to answer the second part of your question. The Super Radio III
has a huge ferrite, and so for pure signal pulling power, there really
isn't a whole lot of competition. However, the SR3 may have poorer
selectivity than the 39/59. The 39/59, with its native selectivity and
excellent nulling ability, can get good readability 10 khz away from a 50
kw local, whereas my memories of the SR3 were otherwise. Plus, during the
nighttime hours, the 39/59 units do very well with their modest ferrite
bars.

The 59 was compared with the Sony ICF-2010, which also has a huge ferrite
as in the SR3. Check out "A Tale of 3Sonys" in the Ultra-light files
area.
