Re: [IRCA] The SRF-59's First Kill

Powell, Dennis and Bert,

Thanks for your comments. I agree with Dennis that the SRF-M37V is a
very fun radio to use, once you get away from the cities. It has great
digital convenience, can store the 9 kHz splits in memory, and if somebody timed it
right in Grayland (during a propagation peak), he could probably have the
biggest thrill of his DX life.

It's still possible to hear TP's near cities, like Dennis and I have
done, but you need to hope that no locals are anywhere near the TP frequency.
My local pest KSUH-1450 covers 1410-1640 on the SRF-M37V, for example. The
SRF-59 has no such problem, and can even null out KSUH almost completely, to
hear Port Angeles-1450 at night.

It's kind of like which handicap do you choose to use...analog tuning,
or dicey selectivity? For me personally, I'll take analog tuning any day, hi.

                   73 Gary
