Re: [IRCA] My sad HD story continues! (sorry for the OT)

I can't offer anything significant to the discussion which has gone
before, but I'll add this: I have experienced hard drive crashes both
at home and at work before, and the solution I find is independent of
what hardware and software you choose. Simply put it's called BACK-UP.

I am repeatedly told by my adult sons, both of whom are in IT, that I
am extreme about multiple back-ups, but I've had subsequent hard drive
crashes, CD crashes, USB drive failures and nonoe of them has resulted
in the loss of any files because I have anything I want to preserve
saved in multiple places and formats.

All of my hobby-related files on the main PC are also backed up on 2 of
the following - USB drive, CD, or laptop.

I make it a habit to do backups weekly and more frequently if I create
or modify any files significantly in between.
