Bill, my RecAll Pro also has this function.  I'm a little hesitant to use it in that manner, lest I lose something really big, although, I suppose I could simply stop and save a good ID on the spot.  Guy reminded me that RecAll Pro has the ability to annotate very simply for later review, and that this, along with a UTC time/date stamp is very handy.  I might just have to go back and do it this way (although I do often annotate now.....still seems a wee bit of a chore, but a lot easier than the old cassette days!  ..........Walt.
PS:  I'd love if my Edirol-09 had the audio cache feature.  I'm sure I'd use it all of the time!
