Much poorer this morning for western Pacific signals, both LF and MW.
Nothing heard for Asians at the start; some DU's eventually heard at reduced
level later on.
531 poor/weak at 1300 with time pips and woman reading news; 639 with brief
fade up, folk music and island-type talk, weak/medium at 1312; 738
weak/medium with man talking, 1314; 828 weak with woman vocal music, 1316
utc.
Russian LWBC at good level, 279, 234, 189, 180, 153 at 1220 utc.
1737 KUT, PNG and 1725 GA, PNG beacons weak, 1221 utc. (Note these are heard
in U/LSB mode, no narrow audio filter needed. KUT is USB, tuned to 1737; GA
is LSB, tuned to 1725.)
We had a big electrical storm last night, apparently high winds too. This
morning my main E/W longwire was dead, apparently a falling branch has
broken the wire near the start. But my other E/W longwire, about 400' away
and roughly parallel was still up, and was pressed into service--I haven't
been using that one.
