Re: [IRCA] Yakima, WA-1610 HAR

Hello Patrick,

Thanks for the info, and glad you received the review. The Yakima-1610
TIS has been at the noise level every night for about a week, but the MW550P
(as soon as I figured out how to use it) finally provided enough of a boost
to ID the location.
Last month, when visiting Ocean Shores, I recall hearing a Coast Guard
TIS station in Aberdeen that I believe was on 1610, giving weather reports,
but Pendleton also seems possible on skywave.
BTW, the S5W has great performance when coupled to the MW550P, giving
sensitivity about the same as a barefoot R8. Paul, at Palstar, quickly
serviced my MW550P unit, and sent it back with an impedance-matching transformer
for my high-impedance loop (on the tower). If you try this combination (S5W to
MW550P) with your outstanding EWE's and beverages, I think you will be
really surprised!

                     73, Gary
