Paul, if it's on you'll be able to hear it because it will create a
1-kHz heterodyne on 1180--it sounds just like somebody running a
continuous 1000 Hz tone on the frequency, the result of two signals only
a kilohertz apart (1180 and 1181) beating against each other.  Stations
offset by only 1 kHz from domestic channels are maybe the easiest to
detect because of the unmistakable 1-kHz het created, but the hardest to
pull out any audio, again because of the extremely close proximity to
the stronger domestics on the 10kHz channel.  But if it's on, I
guarantee you'll hear a 1000 Hz tone on 1180.  Not sure anybody has
pulled any audio out of this--actually, I think someone said they
thought it was one of the Cuban Radio Rebelde transmitters that's
normally right on 1180, but virtually no one has pulled any audio out of
this one--yet.

All I've got is a boombox style radio and a AM/FM tuner that goes in 9

10Khz steps.
