Re: [IRCA] DX Tip (for WDXR)

Patrick,

Very possible that you could have heard CFAR. Even though they have only
1kw night power, it is non-directional. Sorry I can't help you with the
Jazz part.

They are a very tough catch even here in the midwest. As Don Kaskey noted,
he had heard then only once from his Iowa location. Here in N.E. MN I have
heard them only 3 or 4 times in 40 years of DXing from this location. Last
time I heard them was a few years ago. I caught them coming out of
Broadcast News and an I.D. of "CJ-1240 & CFAR-590." They are part of
"Arctic Radio" which also includes CHTM-610 Thompson, MB. CJ-1240 [I forgot
to mention] is CJAR-1240 The Pas, MB. I have never heard any of these at
night. Always on SRS in the dead of winter.

Now if I could just log CHFC-1230 Churchill--that would finish off MB for
me.

These dreams must be caused by my blood pressure meds.
