Re: [IRCA] SW EWE Day bandscan

Charles,

I don't know how hard your soil is, but here I am lucky as it is very
soft in most areas. That is unless there is a tree root in the way. I am
not all that thrilled about the 8 foot copperclad rods that are
available here. The 4 foot Radio Shack ones, the copper wears off in a
few months and they no longer work well. They go down hill from the day
I install them I guess. That is why I changed over to 1/2 inch copper
piping. The 10 foot copper piping here are about $13.50 and I can make
two five foot ones out of one piece. With a couple dollar hose claps,
each set up costs me about $9 which is not too bad. A few years ago, the
10 foot copper pipes were $5.50 each. I should have bought more at that
time. But I have lots in the ground now, so I don't know at what number,
does the addition of more, makes little change. In other words, if you
have 10 five foot rods, what happens if you add another 10 or 20? There
must be a place where the addition of more rods makes little difference
I would think. Any idea? Especially is our wet soil.
