Congratulations! I hope to join you Monday evening. I'm cleaning up the
"Radio Room" today in preparation for the equipment arrival Monday
afternoon.
I'm going to go in just a bit and see if my neighbor is able to help me
with the antenna. I wanted to buy an antenna, but he said I would get a
bigger thrill if I built one myself. 150' of wire for twenty-one bucks
isn't bad.
I've listened on those frequencies on my DRAKE and I think I have heard
that same group in NY. Maybe I'll get a chance to talk with them soon.
Let me know the next time you key the mic and I'll give a listen down here
and see what kind of signal you're putting out.

Hi Joe and Bert and anyone interested,
Well I got my first ever QSO tonight. I found an AM group on 75 M, 3885
KHz, didn't do much talking, were a bunch of old friends I guess catching
up on things. They said my signal was good, most or all were from upstate
NY, probably 300-500 miles from here. The DX-100 puts out about 130 watts
on AM. The two big AM frequencies around here seem to be 1885 on 160 and
3885 on 75. So that was a big thrill for me, took me two months of fooling
with all the stuff to get everything running nice, but the worst part was
getting the antenna up in the jungle behind the house. Now I'm going to
start working on the HW-101, is supposed to be ready to go, we'll see,

To Bob, Bert & the group,
Just last night night, I got my 15 meter stick antenna
with radials tuned up and running. I still have 40 and
20 meter antenna issues, but hopfully before too long.
So when you're ready to do this, please count me in.
And I even have a QSL card made up...

> Hi Bert,
You and I must be in the same zone or something, I finally got my 160M
dipole up with antenna tuner etc, and finally got on the air last night
for the first time, no QSO's but I didn't have much time (had to work
early today) and didn't want to break up a net that was in process. I
heard someone calling CQ on 1885 AM and I tried to answer him but forgot
to switch my transmitter from CW to mic until it was too late. I'm going
to try again tonight either on 160 or 75 meters AM. I bought a SS
transmitter but haven't got that one set up yet, it's a Heathkit HW-101
80-10 M, maybe we can set up a net some night, all the IRCA hams,
