Re: [IRCA] High Power electrical towers (OT)

Has anyone else notice a cell antenna on a high power tower?

Dennis, that's been common around here for a few years. I have seen at
least a half dozen such installations in the Denver metro area. One in
particular is unique because the signal is passed to and from the tower
via a 25-foot long microwave path that is only about 8-feet above ground
level. The link uses two of those small flat diamond shaped microwave
antennas. I presume this was done in order to eliminate a direct
connection into the equipment in case the power got into the downleads
for the cellular system or in case of lightning strikes to the tower.
All of the other shared cellular / power line installations that I have
seen have a direct connection.
