Regarding the 34kw day power for KRKO:  according to Ben Dawson, whose 
firm is doing the engineering for this project, "Until we have some 
measured conductivity from that site, non-da is limited to 34 kw. This 
is not an uncommon practice - cf 1150 LA history."  So there you have 
it.  It sounds like KRKO may boost day power once they have better data 
for the site.   I can't think of any stations they would need to protect 
during the day that wouldn't be protected at night.

KRKOs original plan involved more towers, but they had to go with 
something simpler in order to get past the many hurdles they 
encountered.  I can't recall if that entailed separate day and night DA's.
