Met interesting fellow, Sebring, FL H'fest. Worked lifetime, high end audio.
To borrow from Raymond Chandler on Hemingway re digi-hype: 'everyone sez it's
great so it must be great'.
LPs sound fine, as do CD's - when deloused via tube amps. Cassettes even
sound fine. Hearing couple renditions of Benny More's 'Mata Si Guaraya' taped
recently off Progreso 640, keep acksing, 'iBLOC? What for iBLOC?' For that matter,
what for stereo? Unbeatable Resurecto640 clobbers sleazebag 620 Tampa
SportsBLOC - with creative tuning of R-390 & DA-5. Pro breathes life into
magnificent tracks so that they sound great on cassette, albeit taped offa obsolete,
hollow-state, monaural mil receiver. Wanna try building '390, Stroobie?
A glib gutless goon who scams for Radio World & hides behind facile monniker
declared recently, AM iBLOC nite ops will be approved & lack of public outcry
- his learned opinion - will forever put issue of destructive illegal skywave
gang-rape to rest.
What he miss?
Just this:
Lack of outcry won't be due to public inability to hear distant stations. It
will be because they accept complicit FCC's 'partnering' with terminally
myopic spectrum rapers who wouldn't know compelling programming if it hit them in
their massive derrieres. Citizens know writing FCC is a waste of time &
postage. Rather than tolerate insolent noise, or buy HD radios, they'll 'pursue other
options' - to use phrase favored by BigKorpseorate prevaritcators to describe
head-lop of yet another loyal creative employee.
Many small sta' mgrs want HD nite ops, sooner the better - to forever scuttle
HDscam.
Rest assured - HD Cotillion never darken the celebrated, oft photographed
entrance to Casa d'Amplitron, much less its Grand Foyer. HD-Politburo can go
stink in the corner.
Admit to posession of Readers Digest LP Set of Big Band Greats, among others,
released '65. How it sound? Great. How else would it sound? It's an LP.
Inferior sound was never the reason for getting away from LP's. Just more
BigKorpseorate agitta-prop.
Old friend Joe L. managed Dorsey Band & played also sax onna road for years,
retired young to run family store, still sharp as tack, lives in NE US. Gave
us prized Joe Reisman orchestra seven incher containing four tracks and as
well. Marvelous.
