[IRCA] Drake R-8 repair question

My Drake R-8 has lost all of the display backlights (all at the same
time). Shining a desk lamp through from the front exterior reveals that
the display itself is still working normally. Has anyone here had any
experience with this? Might it be something other than just burned out
bulbs? Thanks in advance for your help.
