Japan to Springfield does have to cover a lot of land, and is really
closer to the auroral zone than I would like, but John Bryant did
hear them from Oklahoma. Thailand on 1575 would be over the pole,
and there have been some pretty interesting over the pole receptions
through the years. If hints of Japan can be heard there, then try
for Malaysia on 1475, won't be anybody else on that channel, and it's
powerful. The suggestion to try for Asians at their local sunset has
a lot of merit.

Australia and New Zealand don't cover much land to get to
you. Australia on 612 and 1548 might be possible as well as
1116. NZ hasn't come in well here for awhile, but 567 or 657 might
be possible. 1503 would be a long shot. Pacific Islands....how
about 738, if only you can drag out their undermodulated audio, but
bet you'll hear the carrier. 846 and 1017 are not as frequent here,
but might be possible there.

Good luck.
