Re: [IRCA] Decent but varied cx tonite

KOFI this early in the month at your distance is really good !! For me their
arrival time is a nice indicator stn for area sunset skip. I think sometimes
they may be one very low angle hop to me on good fall nights. When I was a
kid in RI, CBL used to s/off at 1AM and I caught CBX a couple times and IDed
them on the special night when I had CFAC 960 and CJGX 940 in the late 70's.
790 in Montana gets out quite well and is not uncommon here in IL for me,
Lubbock and Billings are the dominants on good nights to the west with WSGW
phase nulled. KFGO can be in there as well but doesn't send that much signal
here at night.

I am jealous of your Q91 logging since they continue to elude me here. The
further south one goes, the less signal their pattern puts to the east, but
I have failed here on superb SSS nights near fall month ends when Calgary
has been in up to 1 full hour prior to switch time. I may need to try in the
morning since that is when I see most loggings of them. CKKY 830 was u/WCCO
around 2230 CDT last night, but no trace of 910 and when ever I catch C&W on
910 and ID it, it's Minot.

As a kid in RI or young adult in ME the only Cal logged was KFI. Re: 890..89
DJQ's oldies get east very well. They often switch a minute or so early. It
is rather early in the month to try for them and I think KVOZ is not
switching to night rig (likely more of a factor here than in Ottawa)
Hopefully you can get thru WLS if cx are right.

I'll get a reply posted about your new antennas in the next couple of days
since it is DX time now.
