Hi Tim and all,
Well, it's good news that KFSD's a
possibility. Since not many AM stations are classical, they kind of
stick out amidst other programming- as subtle as they can be sometimes.
You know, I guess Porterville is farther south than I thought... I was thinking
it was probably around the same latitude as Reno instead of Las Vegas.
Still, it seems like a pretty big gap down to Escondido. Anways,
definitely classical music for quite a while, waxing and waning for about 20
minutes or so. Loop direction was correct for S. California.
I only recently caught KTIP Porterville for the
first time -maybe I just haven't spent enough time on 1450, but it has in well
like you said. I can get enough off-set from my Kiwa to go around KLZS
Eugene and KFLS Klamath Falls (ESPN) hasn't been much of a threat lately.
In any case, by staying on one frequency for days
at a time, I'm using a DXing tool I call my "attrition technique", hi. Two
modified definitions I like:
1. A gradual diminution in number of (un-heard
stations) because of constant stress.
2. A gradual, natural reduction of (un-heard
stations), as through retirement, resignation, or death (hi). 73 and thanks a bunch! - Doug (who needs to take
Hwy 99 more often instead of the "5" !)
