Not sure. I know that my CFAN test was very "experimental" in that one of
their two towers was not operating and they had no ability to hold their
regular pattern. I'd be VERY surprised if the CRTC or Industry Canada was
aware of that situation. If the PD of CHTN agrees to allow the test idea to
be explored, I'm going to go to work on the CE to see if there is any "work"
that needs to be done at the site on the right evening ;-)

When I worked at CFNB our competition on 1260 seemed to be in "experiemental
mode" quite frequently. Coincidentally, it seemed to track closely with the
ratings period, causing complaints from then-WEEI (I think) on 1260 in
Beantown. To this day Fredericton's 1260 has horrible night-time coverage
in much of its market area, and has resorted to some FM translators to fill
in the gaps.
