Re: [IRCA] New radio...

It's okay.

The biggest negatives are that it is pretty deaf off the whip on SW. Battery life isn't the greatest.

With a small loop for MW and an external antenna for SW, you should do all right.

If you decide to sell it off later, you might want to invest proceeds into the radio it succeeded, the ATS-803A / DX-440. It has it's quirks too but I think it is better radio. They show up all the time on ebay in the $50-$80 range

Let us know what you think when you have had some time with it.

My thinking is that since my wife and I like to travel, it'd be nice to have a full coverage radio with record capability to take along. Maybe I should have asked first in this forum, but does anybody have any negative experiences with this radio? Like I say, a bit late now but I figure Sangean makes a decent radio.
