Re: [IRCA] Further thoughts on DC Power for DX rigs

Doug,

An energy drink it is!

I got the power pack about six months ago to use with the R30 and loop.

The first use was during a more than week long power outage following
hurricane Wilma, proving hours of light when generator power from a
thoughtful neighbor was unavailable. [Memo to self: Buy generator before
next hurricane season.]

Since then I have also had occasion to use it when the car battery
died. Turned the car engine over just like they advertised.

Another power outage that happened for no reason other than the power
company is a monopoly and "So what're ya gonna do about it, buddy," pressed
it again into service.

Oh and it has even been used with the radio.

It is proving far more useful than I originally envisaged, though most
often for reasons I would just as soon have avoided.
