For phasing, you just leave the Quantum switch on "A+B". You don't need to 
fool with the switch any more, making its operation no more difficult than 
the MFJ-1026.

Yes, the MFJ is flawed but not in ways that you seem to have subjected it 
to, hence your positive report. It is known to overload and produce 
distortion products.
