[IRCA] 16 Nov Victoria version.

I'm really glad that I took advantage of the October DX, because November sure isn't shaping up very well. Much of what Bill heard at Lubec wasn't even audible here as sunrise approached!

As Colin noted, there was a bit of a lift at the upper end of the band well after sunrise here.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

no, not even remotely

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

still pretty remote

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese at 1532UT was the best this could manage. Hadn't even started to show audio traces until around local sunrise.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

531 rock music, man talking, maybe DU English 1446UT. Really weak, but not much interference there

594 JOAK man in Japanese? 1459UT; weak pips on hour clinched it

612 4QR after some mumbling over the previous 15 minutes, finally heard the fanfare and likely "ABC news" by man at 1500UT

828 man and woman talking, possibly JOBB 1429UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 693 747 774 891 972 seemed to be Asian;
1017 1098 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
