[IRCA] 4 Nov Victoria version.

Somewhat suppressed signals this morning, especially the big guns, yet still quite a lot of Chinese, just weaker (presumably tired from their earlier trip to Michigan; I'm not sure 1017 was that strong here today). Hearing Chinese on such channels as 792, 900 and 999 is hardly lack of DX, however, though two of the three remain unidentified.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

603 HLSA //558 1430UT; tried paralleling KBS2 webstream, now only available in Korea apparently

972 HLCA 1434UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

558 HLQH, //HLSA 1435UT

621 Heilongjiang RGD pop music //900 1453UT

639 CNR1 1428UT //756

747 JOIB 1448UT

774 JOUB 1441UT

828 JOBB 1432UT

837 Chinese female vocal 1438UT

945 CNR1 //639, 1434UT fading under instrumental music

1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1434UT; better on west Flag unlike the various Chinese

1566 not sure; woman in Chinese 1436UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

567 JOIK // weak 594 1435UT; something under as well

702 woman in Chinese followed by guitar music 1441UT

756 CNR1 //639 1427UT

792 man in Chinese 1431UT

918 woman in Chinese 1434UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

585 man making a speech? 1433UT; no idea

594 JOAK very poor today, but established with parallels, 567 etc.

612 JOLK //567 1427UT

657 violin music 1425UT; N. Korea?

711 1432UT, male talk

819 N. Korea? woman talking, N. Korean pips at 1500UT, but someone else there too

900 Heilongjiang RGD music //621 1453UT

999 man talking Chinese intonation 1437UT; operatic singing 1446, not //819, even though it had a N. Korean sound; was not offset in frequency either

1017 CRI Chinese lessons? 1450UT

1089 1431UT Chinese?

1116 woman Chinese intonation 1442UT

1143 1450UT, maybe Chinese

1323 woman in Russian? 1432UT

1368 man talking 1447UT; didn't sound Chinese

1575 woman 1436UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 675 738 801 846 855 864 873   1008 1026 1053 1179 1206  1215 1251  1278 1305  1341 1359  1458 1494   1593   seemed to be Asian;
nothing seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
