[IRCA] TP 31 Oct Victoria version.
While waiting for small goblins to turn up, let's turn in a DX report .
An odd morning, with deterioration in signal levels overall from other mornings, yet a number of Chinese continued to appear. In addition, just around 1500UT (local sunrise), the upper band opened up with various channels delivering a "snarl" (TM Gary DeBock) of weak signals. Mostly no hope of identifying anything
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):
594 JOAK 1447UT
747 JOIB 1415UT
828 JOBB 1417UT, but many times, hardly audible at all
837 China (Harbin? CNR5?) Chinese male vocal 1432UT. Seems odd programming for a news station, and couldn't match it to CNR5 web stream
972 HLCA 1421UT
1566 HLAZ assumed, woman singing followed by Chinese talk by woman 1505UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

621 woman in Chinese 1445UT
945 CNR1 1417UT
963 CRI //1323 woman in Russian 1426UT
1116 woman in Chinese 1447UT

1422 JORF woman in Japanese 1504UT, faded up very quickly
1395 man in Chinese 1504UT; Anhui Story Radio has been heard on a DXpedition, but darned if I could line up a webstream
1575 Voice of America ID 1530UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)
639 CNR1 //945 1417UT
846 man in Chinese? 1418UT, hum on channel
855 choral music 1434UT, N. Korea?

1242 JOLF cuckoo pips 1500UT, but then got snarly with some Chinese? and ? involved after the hour
1287 man talking, Japanese intonation 1434UT
