Welll, I think things leaned a little DU this morning (geomagnetic conditions seem to be irrelevant just now),  but then consider apparent Japanese talk on 864 and 1053...There was a lot of variability, and I'm sure I missed things.



pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

Reasonable audio  at  times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1251UT; things shifting pretty quickly this morning

774 3LO man being interviewed by woman 1250-1UT //594

774 JOUB man in Japanese 1222UT

972 HLCA  two men in Korean 1234UT

1566 HLAZ Nihongo Hoso with piano "What a Friend I Have in Jesus"



not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 


675 RNZ National ballad //756 1310UT; someone else there too, but didn't seem // with ABC

702 2BL weather forecast and ABC news mention 1305UT, just like yesterday

747 JOIB man in Japanese //774 1206UT 

828 JOBB man in Japanese 1241UT

873 JOGB man in Japanese //weaker 774 which was struggling with 3LO 1256UT

891 5AN slow talking woman, DU English 1217UT; finally IDd with weak fanfare at 1330UT

1116 4BC man in DU English, then piano ballad 1316UT


Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)  



576 man talking 1218UT, presumed 2RN 

585 man talking DU English intonation 1212UT; 7RN?

603 island vocals 1300UT; ID'd as Waatea by 765 // at 1307UT

621 3RN man talking, DU English? 1237UT; no parallels at this time//finally IDd with fanfare at 1300UT

693 JOAB man talking //774 1236UT

729 5RN?  man talking DU English intonation, then woman 1318UT; didn't deliver any fanfare on the half hour however, though a lot of 730 splash just then

765 R. Kahungunuu, ballad //603 1307UT

864 man talking Japanese intonation 1238UT

1017 female choral music like an anthem 1301UT; likely Tonga

1053 woman talking, could have been Japanese, single pip on hour 1300UT







Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

 918 1134 1179 1242  1287 1332 1422 1575  seemed to be Asian; 
531 558   828 846 855 909 918 963 1026 1098 1107 1503 1548 seemed to be DU
