[IRCA] TP 26 Feb Victoria version

Some of the big guns did quite well this morning, but there wasn't a great deal of second tier action, though a couple of NHK1's had good fades up.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man in Japanese 1446UT
693 JOAB briefly over the CBU splash 1434UT "we hope you have enjoyed today's broadcast" (English lessons). JOAB has done surprisingly well here this season
774 JOUB Japanese pop music 1456UT
828 JOBB man in Portuguese 1445UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594 which was much weaker just then 1442UT
747 JOIB man in Portuguese 1441UT
837 JOQK peaking with man in Japanese //594 1441UT
891 JOHK peaking 1459UT man in Japanese "Anshin Rajio" pips on hour

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

972 HLCA pop music, man in Korean 1440-1UT. A big gun not sounding very big today.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

558 HLQB woman talking quietly 1422UT; music at 1423UT was //603 which faded up then
603 HLSA as 558 1423UT
873 JOGB woman talking //774 1504UT
954 man talking, Japanese intonation 1446UT
1566 choral music 1429UT, about the best this could do this morning.

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)
 864 909 918 936 1053 1098 1134 1206 1287 1332 1386 1422 1503    seemed to be Asian;
  612 702 846 1017 1098 seemed to be DU

best wishes,

Nick
