There's sunrise enhancement, and then there is sunrise 
enhancement.   You're right about things fizzling out Gary, 
especially past 1500UT.  Sunrise is at 1530UT here.

Just about the time the sun came up so did some pretty unusual DX, 
and it was in an out for another half hour.   NHK1 on 1224, CNR6 on 
1089, that sort of thing.   Not quantity perhaps, but certainly 
quality.  At times 1098 was the strongest overseas signal on the band 
with Chinese.

So, sometimes you have to stick around, or at least check the DX 
Fishbarrel while doing something else.
