Re: [IRCA] Help Needed-- North American UnID from Japanese Cape Taitosaki DXpedition

Sorry for a delayed response... but I hear two EE speakers there. The first is a male with repeated use of "getting to..." (four times beginning at :10, then a woman rises to dominate at ~:18 with words that include "former (something)... making his debut..."

And I'll agree with Chuck that the pronunciation of 'debut' suggests DU.

Hang on... the National Rugby League line-up for Sat 18 Mar had a game involving the Sydney Roosters which would've kicked off at 0900 UT. That 'something word' sounds suspiciously like "Rooster".

So possibly ABC NewsRadio for the woman?

Chuck and Colin,

Thanks for listening to the 630 kHz DXpedition clip, and for your detailed assessments. I will pass these on to Hiroo.

I think that for their next major DXpedition this Japanese group will have a major advantage for MP3 file review-- with a Canadian named Nick Hall-Patch as one of the participants.

To my ears, there is English at :03 and :20. The talk at :20 is news, and seems to have an Australian accent.

Yea - I swear I could hear an entirely Asian language in there with no
evidence of anything remotely English.

Any assistance in listening and digging out any clues for station identity
would be greatly appreciated! The Cape Taitosaki DXpedition was extremely
successful for the Japanese Ultralight DXers, with several of them
receiving astonishing DX like 1620-Radio Rebelde (Cuba) on 7.5" loopstick
