CHNS-960 Halifax NS has applied to the CRTC to move to FM (89.9 MHZ,
100kW):
I wonder if CHNS will continue their SW relay (CHNX) on 6130 kHz?

Application by Maritime Broadcasting System Limited to convert
radio station CHNS Halifax from the AM band to the FM band.
The new station would operate on frequency 89.9 MHz (channel 210C1)
with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts (non-directional
antenna/antenna height of 224 metres).
The applicant is requesting permission to simulcast the programming
of the new FM station on CHNS for a period of three months from the
date of implementation of the new station.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also an application for a new X-band AM in Toronto ON,
1kW on 1690. I presume that the programming will be largely Greek,
given the name of the applicant:

Application by Canadian Hellenic Toronto Radio Inc. for a licence
to operate an AM commercial (ethnic) radio programming undertaking in
Toronto.
The new station would operate on frequency 1690 kHz with a transmitter
power of 1,000 watts day-time and night-time.
By condition of licence, the applicant proposes to direct ethnic
programming to a minimum of 5 cultural groups in a minimum of 5
different languages per broadcast week.
