[IRCA] TP 12 Oct Victoria version
Big guns loaded up at various times; that seemed to be where the
sunrise enhancement was at this location, not in the appearance of
various second tier stations.. Lots of potential in various carriers
but remained potential without somebody doing some serious
digging. Some Aussie signals. Lots of static. Didn't find much
difference between north and west Flags at around 1415UT, might have
been different at other times. Conditions just seemed a bit poorer today.
The report today is a bit scattergun like the conditions
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
594 JOAK man in Japanese 1401UT
747 JOIB various times
774 JOUB English lessons 1412UT, but not consistent performer
828 JOBB English lessons with something underneath that couldn't ID,
1411UT; had also been heard at this level 1358UT with basics of
Chinese pronunciation, various extended vowels,
fascinating. Imagine that 6 year olds would love practicing these
sounds completely unknown in English
1566 HLAZ man and woman in Chinese 1414UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
954 JOKR man in Japanese 1423UT //1287 with slight offset
1287 JOHR as above. Regular parallel programming at this time?
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
738 2NR man in DU English //702 1405UT
738 moments earlier at 1400UT, woman in French assumed Tahiti
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
531 pop muisc not //594 at 1358UT; local noise obliterated the hour
576 man and woman 1422UT, DU English inflection
612 4QR man talking, like a speech 1415UT //738
792 man talking Du English inflection 1424UT
1017 man and woman mumbling, could have been Korean 1403UT, nothing on hour
1386 Hindi sounding female vocals 1404UT, assumed R. Tarana
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here
lots, but not delivering much
best wishes,
Nick
