These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also VHF/UHF, sometimesÂutility, ham, which may be found in several archives without much delay, such as
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser
And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxldmid.html
All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open access:
http://forums.wtfda.org/showthread.php?6543-MW-DX-from-Enid-OK-by-Glenn-Hauser/page50
All times and dates strictly UT. Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only or PL-880; NRD-545 with ALA-330S inside E-W or inside randomwire N-S; Nissan stock caradio as specified; ICR-75Â E-W longwire
** MEXICO. 540, Sept 19 at 1202, DJ calls himself Osman RamÃrez, buenos dÃas, says news will start at 7 am and into romantic music now at 6 am local. Presumably usual XETX, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 650, Sept 22 at 1215, ad for John Deere, Sinaloa, so XETNT, Radio 65, Los Mochis in agropecuaria wake-up show. Not a big dominant signal it used to achieve at sunrise (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 660, Sept 21 at 1202, canned YL ID for XEFZ, ABC Radio, Monterrey NL, and introducing `Las Noticias Como Son` [son is a play on words]; 1203 live newscaster also mentioning FM 91.7. Neither IRCA 2015 nor Cantà 2015 matches that or any FM with XEFZ 660; instead Cantà showed the AM of 91.7 XHXL MTY is AM 1340. Rather than full-time duplication, could be only this morning news block is matching among stations in the same local cluster. Then he reminds us that maÃana at 9:21 am Central Mexican Time will be the ``equinoxio de verano`` --- oops, he means otoÃo. Time is correct = 1421 UT Sept 22 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 720, Sept 17 at 1158, open carrier from WSW/ENE atop a weaker Mexican music station, the latter mentioning ``La Raza`` at 1202 UT, so no doubt KSAH San Antonio. I wait and wait for something to start, until 1206 Mexican choral NA finally fires; 1208 Chihuahua state song; 1209 inspirational ``un nuevo dÃa`` recitation about ``amor, y sÃlo amor`` with music bed. 1212 weakening but finally brief canned sign-on as ``El FonÃgrafo 7-20 AM``, street address in Ciudad JuÃrez, ``mil watts, Grupo Radio MÃxico``; then switch to live announcer with 6:12 TC, and calls mentioned for first time, XEJCC, plugging algo at 9 am from MÃxico DF, 1213 into music. Calls pronounced ``equis-e-jota-cÃce``, i.e. emphasis on the first C, rather than equal or even more stress on the second, so at first it sounded like ``efe`` or ``ese``. ``CC`` could be interpreted as cese, ``stop it`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 720, Sept 22 at 1210, lots of ``felicidades`` birthday greetings from family members; unseem particular to Ciudad JuÃrez, so maybe national hookup from parent station El FonÃgrafo 1150 XEJP in the DF via XEJCC Chihuahua. 1213 finally music expected to be `MaÃanitas`` but something else. Very poor signal from WSW, much weaker than neighbor 730 XEHB Parral (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** JAPAN. 774, Sept 21 at 1155, JBA TP carriers led by this one from the NW, so NHK; also on 747, 693, 828, all of which are super-power NHK frequencies. Now I have audio on one of them! 774 at 1200, clear timesignal ending with last pip at higher pitch and resounding. 774 is JOUB, NHK-2 from Akita; all are 500 kW, except 828 only 300 kW. I used to get Osaka in the old days when it was still on 830 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1844, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO [and non]. 800, Sept 21 at 1206 UT, nulling semi-local KQCV OKC gospel huxter as much as possible, Spanish adstring is surely XEROK Ciudad JuÃrez, but still cannot overcome 2.5 kW even at sunrise; makes SAH of 51/minute = 0.85 Hz. Rather KQCV should be on night power of only 1 kW until 1215 UT in September (1230 UT in October) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) 800, XEROK: see also 1300, XEP log
** MEXICO. 820, Sept 19 at 1206, ID as ``820, ABC Radio``, so XEABCA, Mexicali BCN, music making usual slow SAH with WBAP nulled (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 870, Sept 15 at 1201, NA is playing, and at 1207 recheck, XETAR is just now signing-on in Spanish, neat rustic music breaks, and same in other native languages but they still pronounce the calls and website as in Spanish, and the sponsoring agencies. Lema: ``Cuatro pueblos unidos en una sola voz``. As usual, good signal from 10 kW daytimer La Voz de la Sierra Tarahumara, in Guachochi, Chihuahua, dominating frequency until fadeout by 1220 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 990, Sept 21 at 1222 UT, Spanish station discussing some event in El Paso, with person on phone ---- but there is no El Paso/JuÃrez station on this frequency. Closest in Chihuahua, not very, is CuauhtÃmoc, closest in USA is Artesia NM, not SS. XECL in Mexicali really gets out, so maybe this was it referring to a concert. Loops westward rather than southward, too late for XET Monterrey (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 1050, UT Monday Sept 19 at 0334, XEG talking about events in Monterrey and Nuevo LeÃn, as it`s doing its own local PS to La [Media] Hora Nacional. (Checking for this after Chihuahua stuff on XEP 1300, q.v.)
990, XET MTY however, is just playing music at 0335+ Sept 19.
660, UT Monday Sept 19 at 0345, segment about cine estrenos in Monterrey, not // 1050, or at least not synchronized. So this must be XEFZ, 10/1 kW ABC Radio in MTY, another PS to La Media Hora Nacional.
570, UT Monday Sept 19 at 0347, seems same show as on 660, q.v., ``En Escena`` segment about new film releases, but not synchronized with sibling station to this, XEBJB, 5/0.5 kW also in Monterrey (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 1300, Sept 16 at 0220, 8 y 19 minutos timecheck, from ``Radio Mexicana, la mÃsica ---``. XEP, JuÃrez as usual dominant signal at night, but plenty QRM too. Impossible to believe it`s 200 watts at night rather than 38,000 watts day power (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 1300, UT Monday Sept 19 at 0333, ``La Hora de Chihuahua`` is starting, ``complementaria de La Hora Nacional``, so of course it`s XEP in JuÃrez as usual the dominant night signal here despite listed 200 watts. It seems that LHN is really ``Media Hora Nacional``, the second half being turned over to state/local government programs.
Will I hear the same thing on other Chihuahua stations? First to check is 800, XEROK, but can`t get enough signal past 2.5 kW KQCV OKC, despite a close to 90-degree null. Which reminds me, that XEROK for quite a while now has seemed to be underpowered again, far less than 50, let alone 150 kW, wasting its exalted clear-channel status across western North America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1844, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** MEXICO. 1510, UT Monday Sept 19 at 0331, ``La Radio Alternativa`` mentioned several times in station promo roughly from south amid heavy QRM, the newish XEQI in Monterrey NL, in IRCA Log as ``La Nueva Radio``, but now Alternativa is its name per NL government roster:
http://www.nl.gob.mx/radio-y-television-de-nuevo-leon
IRCA and WRTH list as 10 kW daytimer, but IRCA adds it`s 24 hours. This might have been preceding a local PS to La Hora Nacional as on several other stations. Same page also linx to streaming and download of ``Nuevo LeÃn en la Hora Nacional --- Descarga y escucha aquà este programa conducido por Gregorio Bernal y Rocià Zubiria``.
Here`s the 1510 program schedule:

UNIDENTIFIED. TP carrier search pre-sunrise Sept 17: Well, I finally heard something Richard N Allen did not, on my mere DX-398 and ferrite loopstick: 774 from the NW (NHK) JBA carrier definitely made it as far as Enid at 1140, when I could also detect a carrier on 693. At 1154, 774 and 828 JBA carriers. 73, (Glenn Hauser, out west from Perry, sent from my custom Desktop, IRCA via DX LISTENING DIGEST)
On 9/17/2016 6:26 AM, Richard N Allen wrote: ``What a difference a day make! I listened from about 1000 to 1215 UT (LSR) and there wasn't a trace of a TP or DU signal here this morning. I hope the folks out west have a better morning. Richard Allen, near Perry OK USA. Sent from my iPad``.
Previous morning Sept 16 (when I wasn`t monitoring), he got a bunch, as he has subsequently (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 774, Sept 19 at 1158 UT, a few minutes before sunrise, JBA carrier here looping NW, so NHK; then find others on 684, 693, 828. Only 684 is not a superpower NHK; could be N Korea or China (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) see also JAPAN!
UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific JBA carrier search Sept 22: at 1154, 774, 693, 747, 702 --- all from NW rather than WSW, which means 702 isn`t Australia, but probably North Korea or China. Pacific-Northeasterners report NHK-2 on 702, but two of those are only 10 kW. Also 657, 738, the latter usually Tahiti but too much 740 KRMG to get a bearing on it.
At 1201: 828; at 1202: 1053, 1134, 1143; at 1204: 1242; at 1206: 1566 where PNEs have been reporting a jammer against FEBC S Korea. 1053 is also a jammer by S Korea against N Korea. At 1207: still 702 from the NW, also 774, 828. Final check at 1226: 774 still in from NHK. Local sunrise here today was 1220 UT, one bihour before equinox (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
