Sure, if you disconnect the load from the coax, it will pick up signals.
No doubt about that. It is like any hunk of wire out there. But putting
a load on it insolating the antenna from the coax, I never notice any
extra signals. Like I mentioned, on my tests, I have taken the R8 right
out to the input of the antennas and hooked up the R8. I notice no
difference betwen doing that than running the 70 feet of coax inside the
house. I have done this on groundwave days. By using the matching
transformer, you are insolating the coax from the antenna. All you are
using the coax is to bring the signal into the house. I have been using
this system now for 17 years. It works fine. I have read the theory on
the coax picking up stray signals and all. But I have never experienced
it. In my World, I could care less about theory and lab tests and all of
that. The proof is, does the antenna work.
