Title: Re: [IRCA] Patrick - Drake rcvrs
They charged $25 per quarter hour for labor, plus parts, plus $18 return shipping. Since I didn’t send my R8 in factory-original packaging (I bought it used) they also charged for a shipping carton and carton liner material.

I had the radio aligned, they fixed the RS232 port (bad chip, by the looks of the invoice) and replaced the bottom panel (broken feet) with a newer model that uses a metal bale. Total time was 1.5 hours, total cost $222.00.

I’m glad to have it back :-)

My R8 is obviously in need of some attention. What do they charge? Is it by the hour, or fraction, and do they charge the return shipping fairly?

Just got my R8 back from Ohio about 2 weeks ago; Drake repaired a broken RS232 port and realigned it back to almost dead-nuts frequency readout. Very quick turn-around, if a bit pricey,
