Whatever it is, it is nothing if not persistent.
I first heard it nearly five hours ago and it has not paused in the beeping for even a couple seconds since, with one exception. Just after 2200edt there was a ten second or so period during which the beeping stopped, then began again taking a few seconds to get back to the original steady though random beat. It could have been a signal loss, though it didn't seem so.
The background noise has come up on it, but the signal seems to be holding its own, as CW tones do cut through.
I made a MP3 recording -- about 100kB -- which is nothing especially exciting, but for anyone who has a notion what this might be, give a listen:
Thanks to those who have reported they're not hearing it. I'm still hoping someone will report they have, or better yet, tell me what it is.

This beeping continues. I am tuning it best now in CW mode, 1458.55kHz,
300Hz filter, 0Hz Passband offset.
The signal is weak but there is almost no interference, so it is easy to
hear once you find it. No idea how far it may be getting out, and
absolutely no idea what it might be, in the middle of the broadcast band as
it is.

Thought this might be getting out farther than south Florida. It's been
going for half an hour, so maybe others will have a chance to hear it.

At 1735edt 7/15/05 on 1460: There is a strange CW-like beeping in AM but
heard a little better in LSB. Not proper CW form, so probably not intended
as that, but sounds like code if you don't pay close attention. Anyone else
hearing this?
