Re: [IRCA] WSBR 740 night power.

Our premise, precisely -

FCC must give precedence to investigation of Wobblers. Look, is info emanating from WSBR all that enduringly important? Of course not. Wishful thinking aside -

Meter readings help. Check out fcc.gov, click 'search', you'll find AM database w/day&nite powers and field strengths.

Possible night pattern tightens toward your qth, compensating for drop in mitter power, thus giving approx. same meter reading?

One way to find out if they're shifting pattern & power is to camp on 'em. Start shortly before 8 PM - for thoroughness' sake - listen until perhaps 8:30. Somewhere within a few moments of local SS you should hear at least one break in signal for power and pattern shift. Signal vanishes for a second, sometimes you hear other sta's in gap. It returns with night power and pattern. Sometimes two breaks occur, as with 1040 Tampa. Michael Savage talks about the dog, the food, the food, the dog, the boat, the dog, the dog....then an abrupt break, signal vanishes, returns, within a second or two, another break,  returns...and night pattern  &  power are set w/noticeable difference in signal level.
