Some time ago, on the IRCA List, there was a brief discussion
about doing precision frequency measurement (PFM) of stations in Asia.
Charlie Taylor brought up the subject and I think I owe him one.
I came across some of my old PFM logs while on Okinawa
(1976-1979), and found one for WXLE (AFRTS), 1384.664 kHz, in 1977. I had
noted the location as "Phoenix Island." I sent a report, but no reply. Can
any of the "old timers" tell me the country this station came under for
counting as a country?
Besides Phoenix Island, I came across Canton Island, Marshall
Islands, and Kwajalein Island.
I had totally forgotten the log, as most of my original report
copies were lost during my Naval career. Thanks. Very 73 de Mike
