Hi, Doug:
Sorry for the slow response. Been up to my eyes in prepping for a local
ARES training institute this weekend.
Well, I have been an IRCA member for just about 10 days now, and am
getting anywhere from 10-20 notes a day. I used the wrong word in
"fluff," I'll admit. What got to me was something I even complain to my
own Vienna Wireless Society about -- message strings that all carry the
same subject title but are only very incremental developments of the topic.
That is a perennial pet peeve with me, and I champion -- so far to
little avail -- some sort of sequential ID like #2, #5. etc.
I've been an SWL and occasional AM DXer for 50+years, and live in
Arlington, VA. My AM interest is mostly up and down the East Coast and
out into the Midwest as far as I can reach with my Drake. My personal
project is to corral one station from each of the cities my family
members live in -- everywhere from Bangor, ME to Bradenton, FL and out
thru Cincinnati (where I'm from) to Lawrence, KS and Denver, CO, and
down to Austin, TX.
I appreciate your explanation of the dynamics of IRCA, am glad you enjoy
it so much, and apologize if I offended anyone with my observation.
