The idea of this item is to isolate the antenna ground from the radio ground to reduce noise. I use a home brew version that incorporates a toriod core with 9 turns of wire on the radio side and 27 turns on the antenna side.
The antenna is then worked against it's own separate ground rod or counterpoise.
The two grounds are electrically separate.
