*Greenland again reported active with SW relay on 3815-USB at 2015, 
 2045
*Randy Bachman`s Vinyl Tap recommended Sat 2300-0100 UT Sunday on CBC 
 Northern Quebec, 9625; also on CBC Radio 1 four times
*R. Canada Internal confirms it will cancel English and French to 
 Europe, but not Ukrainian and Russian
*During election campaign in Canada, CBC is airing free political 
 speeches including minority parties, such as Marijuana and 
 Rhinoceros; probably just before news on the hour 
*VOA Greenville coverage of the sesquihour first presidential debate 
 limited to the middle third on 6040, 9820, normally at 0130-0200 with 
 Spe-cial Eng-lish; not a single private US SW station carried it as a 
 public service 
*VOA terminating Serbian, Bosnian, Macedonian on Sept 30, but they can 
 still listen to Croatian
*VOA Hindi also canceled; V. of Russia wastes no time in scheduling a 
 listeners` conference in New Delhi; and BBC issues press release on 
 how important Hindi is
*VOA adds three broadcasts in Sudanese Arabic for Darfur, or is it 
 Radio Sawa?
*Senator Sam Brownback introduced legislation that would establish the 
 National Center for Strategic Communications, to replace State 
 Department public diplomacy and Broadcasting Board of Governors; 
 would make US SW services propaganda outlets
*Radio Newyork International via WBCQ changing frequency in October 
 from 7415 to 5110, UT Mondays 0000-0300
*WBCQ-FM now on the air at 94.7, forcing CJRI, Fredericton NB to move 
 to 104.5 at least temporarily
*Bonneville keeps jumbling its national capital properties, moving 
 WTOP to 1050, and WFED to 1500
*WPRR, 1680, Ada, Michigan, on the air with Pacifica programming, 
 Public Reality Radio

 in August, so was at low power, but up to 50 kW daytime by mid-
 September
*KFI, 640, Los Angeles, four years after its tower was knocked down by 
 airplane, resumes with replacement tower September 26; asked for 
 signal strength comparisons at switchover, but before that was 
 running from secondary auxiliary site making the improvement seem 
 greater
*Contrary to last week`s info from the station itself, Radio Chapingo, 
 1610 at Texcoco near Mexico City is not running 24 hours, still 
 signing off at 0208 UT and on at 1400, as monitored in the DF

 strike; hard to repair lacking professional engineer
*Radio Cultural Coatán, Guatemala has been off 4780 for some weeks; R.

*Two weeks after listing it on schedule, 13680 finally on the air for 
 Radio Habana Cuba English at 2030-2130; first day was more than 3 
 minutes offset from parallel 11760
*Final broadcast of HCJB`s steerable `eggbeater` antenna in Ecuador 
 was Sept 30 in German; will be dismantled and reassembled at HCJB 
 Australia
*Radio Casauchun Coca, Bolivia, new on 6075, heard in New Zealand at 
 1000 
*Yushu PBS, Qinghai, China, has also started using 6075 from 1025
*Radio Virgen de Remedios, Bolivia, reported by one Brazilian DXer 
 several dates around 0000 on new 3985, ex-4111, 4555
*Radio Nove de Julho, Brasil, 9820, heard in New Zealand at 0921, and 
 0300; and in Portugal at 1902 and 0919
*Voice of Biafra International, Fri 20-21 via WHRI, back on 17650, ex-
 15280 in July and August
*Radio Africa, Equatorial Guinea, resumed 15190 Sept 25; also RNGE 
 domestic service on 5005, 6250; 15190 includes Tony Alamo around 2200 
 [but lately lacking modulation]
*Press Now, related to Radio Netherlands, plans to launch Radio Darfur 
 on SW; tested a few weeks ago at 0300 on 7245 via Madagascar; same 
 organization ran Radio Zamaneh for Iran, formerly on SW
*Voice of Oromiya Independence via Media Broadcast, Germany, new at 
 1730-1800 Fridays on 15650
*BBC Radio 4 launches new Media Show, 52 weeks a year, Wednesdays at 
 1230 UT, on demand for one week
*Vatican heard on 7335 at unscheduled time of 2230; just can`t wait 
 for CHU to move to 7850?
*Sitkunai, Lithuania, site adds 3955 at 1530-1730 Thu/Fri/Sat, R. 
 Racja resumed for Belarus
*Special anniversary edition of Moscow Mailbag on Voice of Russia this 
 week
*Due to technical problem, R. Bulgaria on only one frequency at a time 
 in English and other languages
*Zhoushan Maritime Meteorological Radio, China, 3303-USB heard with 
 new broadcast at 1401-1411
*English craze in China; hear documentary about this from CBC`s Sunday 
 Edition Sept 28
*Both major networks in China, CNR-1 and CNR-2, heard with English 
 segments
*Sam Neua, Laos, 4412.6v, sign-on times monitored as 2255, 0924
*Lots of Indonesian and Papua New Guinea stations audible on 60, 75 
 and 90m; see reports in DX Listening Digest 8-107 and 8-108
*Northern Territory stations in Australia also audible in OK around 
 1230 on 120 meters
*Reactivated Vanuatu on 7260 heard in NZ between 0325 and 0700 except 
 when blocked by Algeria via UK at 04-06
