*CFRX, Toronto, 6070 kHz, back on air after two years, at first off- 
 frequency [and then with modulation lacking]; just as we predicted, 
 collides with and loses out to CVC Chile all-night; ELWA Liberia also 
 on 6070
*Mixing product on 6390 in Japanese at 0200 is NHK via Sackville 5960 
 leapfrogging over Vietnam via Sackville on 6175
*CJLO, 1690, Montreal, testing on air; suppressed harmonic on 3380, 
 but look for it anyway
*CBC Radio 2 has four new online streams of different music genres
*Route 66 On the Air, special event ham stations, Sept. 13-21; see 
 http://www.w6jbt.org/Route ota/Index.htm
*Baseball on 1660 is KXTR, Kansas City, despite classical format 
 elsewhen, and not the Royals, but T-Bones
*WDJO, 1160 in Kentucky, heard in McAllen, Texas on 1610, 3220, 4830, 
 9660; must be local low-power relay putting out harmonics
*Write to Congress, presidential candidate opposing demolition of VOA 
 Delano; we might need shortwave again
*Illegal political battles heard on 20m, 14272, playing speeches of 
 candidates
*WRNO resumed 7505 UT Sept 10 after a sesquiweek break for hurricanes, 
 but no damage
*World of Radio airing on WRMI, 9955, Sunday 2030, replaced by Foro 
 Revolucionario Democrático Cubano; jammed anyway
*New station in Florida on 1550, WNZF, Bunnell, Flagler County, runs 
 day power at night when hurricanes threat, so may be widely heard. 
 Try for it as you try for ZNS, Bahamas, 1540
*Hurricane Ike briefly diminished Cuban jamming; and other anomalies
*Does anyone recognize who originated or used as radio slogan among 
 Cuban exiles years ago, ``Sin libertad, la vida nada vale`` (Without 
 freedom, life is worth nothing)?

*RTE Ireland again with two SW sports specials this September, relayed 
 from abroad: was hurling Sunday Sept 7 at 1300-1700 in analog via 
 South Africa, DRM via UK; probably same for football Sept 21; see

*BBCWS airing Last Night of the Proms, Sept 13 on DRM via Norway
*A few stations still observe S-season frequency changes, such as 
 France in English
*Popular hosts on R. Slovakia International, Pete and Katerina, have

*Abkhazia has two SW transmitters slightly off-frequency from 9495, at 
 0400-0515 and 1530-1600 at least; QSL obtained by roundabout means

*BBCWS starts special service to Afghanistan/Pakistan border area, 
 1630-1700 on 6100, 7295, 9915 and several FM relays; competing with 
 Deewa Radio from VOA started two years ago
*KBC Radio, Netherlands via Lithuania, 6055, 2130-2230, including 
 Wolfman Jack, an ``indescribable melange`` to Bob Hill, but Silveri 
 Gómez loves it and listens almost every day
*Algeria`s shift from 252 to 250 kHz reported last week was fixed 
 after a couple of nights
*Bangladesh, 4750, very strong in Belgium until 1659
*Taiwan Area Fishery Radio Station has weekly broadcast 0930-1000 
 Wednesdays in Chinese on 11550, 11745, 15240, 15265
*Indonesian season has started in Europe; RRI Pontianak, Kalimantan, 
 3976.05, until 1655
*Radio Symban, 2368.5, NSW, has been off the air for moving to a new 
 site with better antenna; back in 8-12 weeks from August?
*World Harvest Radio confirms it is purchasing KHBN, Palau; had been 
 reported already with test relays on 9955
*Propagation outlook from Boulder, September 9
