*Faroe Islands` 531 MW transmitter off the air; to be back in August, 
 and replacement completed by October
*BBCWS shutting down Romanian service August 1; meanwhile Romanian 
 legislation to balance bad news with good news
*Reception reports for E-QSL from clients of Media-Broadcast ex-DTK, 
 Germany, should now go to QSL-Shortwave @ media-broadcast.com
*R. Prague was off the air June 25-26 due to storms; gave Greece 9420 
 a respite from 9415 QRM
*R. Ukraine International was also off the air June 25-26, reason 
 unknown
*R. Maria, Italy, 26000 AM and 26010 DRM, welcomes reports with mp3 
 clips to qsl @ radiomaria.org which are handled by new QSL manager; 
 paper QSLs for return postage to Giampiero Bernardini, Via 
 Tertulliano 35, 20137 Milano, Italy
*Vatican`s extended usage of 4005 was caused by ``temporary problem in 
 the frequency managing system`` -- in other words, no human being was 
 paying attention to what went on the air
*Switzerland`s Italian service on 558 did close down June 30; French 
 service Suisse Romande on 765 also threatened with closure due to RF 
 concerns, but not for a year or two
*FRCN director says Ibadan and Enugu stations are dead; only Kaduna 
 regional remains on SW, but currently off for repairs
*Mugabe`s Voice of Zimbabwe claims global audience based on DX reports

 picked up their FM on 95.3, and other Mérida stations on 89.3, 92.9 
 by sporadic E
*Belize FM on 88.9 heard in South Carolina
*ZNS, Nassau Bahamas on 1540 let its transmitter and antennas 
 deteriorate with inadequate cooling and corrosion, now being 
 replaced, back up to 50 kW by fall
*unID harmonic heard in Alberta last March on 2980 now identified as 
 Radio Vida Nueva, Barranquilla, Colombia, 2 x 1490
*HCJB has closed down its low-power 21455 kHz transmitter
*Bolivians heard in Colombia: R. San Miguel, 4699.4 at 1027; R. 
 Universitaria at 2348-0030 on 4732.1
*Bolivian heard in Brasil: R. Virgen de los Remedios on 4110v at 0025; 
 was on 4005 confusing with Vatican
*R. Colonia, Uruguay, 550 kHz, heard in New Hampshire, a rarity in 
 North America, at 0800 with Stars & Stripes Forever news theme
*LRA36, Antarctica, 15476, heard again in Belgium, June 26-27 at 1918, 
 1938
*Portugal TVDX audio on 53.74 MHz heard in Massachusetts; American 
 channel 2 stations received in Portugal
*Propagation outlook from Boulder July 1; solar flux stuck at 66
