[Swprograms] Pocono Record - "Radio Dial Diva" - Impact of WABC going IBOC at night

Interesting read - the only version I could find was the Google cache
- see http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:jTk8hr90yWwJ:www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article%3FAID%3D/20071001/LOCALENT/710010324/-1/NEWS16+wzzo+hd&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us&client=firefox-a
or http://snipurl.com/1sjn1.

Many folks in the Poconos are transplanted New Yorkers who can still
-- with difficulty -- hear the NYC nondirectional AM powerhouses. The
article grouses about WABC going IBOC at night and now being much less
audible.

An interesting response from the WABC program director:

"There is really no upside," for broadcasting to northeast
Pennsylvania. "The Poconos are not rated and we don't sell
advertising there. The Poconos are like bonus listeners we've had for
years."

I can hear John Figliozzi shrieking from here...

So much for broadcasters' interest in retaining "clear channel" signals...
