Both WHYY and WAMU offer their standard programming in HD in addition
to their new HD side streams.
So the HD offerings are "identical plus..."
The delay would indeed appear to be what you're hearing, Saul...
Regarding the blending / switching, IIRC, an HD radio is supposed to
default back to the analog signal if the HD signal craps out (to use
the technical term...).
