Re: [Swprograms] Fwd: [uk-radio-listeners] How will radio change in future?

Thanks for your response, Richard.

I guess for me radio as a medium has always "been the message"
(or a significant part of it). I know that most of you on this
list focus on program content as being the important piece,
regardless of how the program gets to you.

For me, something being radio, coming out of the radio speaker,
playing at the time I receive it, has always added to the
message, becoming part of the message. Having a computer
intercede, or having to load a program into an MP3 player, etc.,
detracts from and changes the nature of the message for me.

Obviously I am a minor oddity compared to the majority of the
public. It is possible that an wireless Internet appliance (if
the speakers sound "crummy enough" and the user interface
functions like a "radio") might be able to fool me into thinking
I'm still listening to a radio, but I haven't been able to try
such a thing yet (nor can I afford it right now) <grin>.
