It has become a tradition in my house to tune in
the chimes of Big Ben via the BBC Worldservice at 0000 Universal
Time on Jan 1st every year. This way we can uncork the champagne at
7pm ET and not feel like we missed anything if we go to bed before midnight our
time.
Since we no longer have reliable BBC WS shortwave
reception here, I will be relying on the Sirius BBC stream or an Internet
feed for this event.
My question to the group is, have you listened to
either of these feeds in past years and can you confirm for me that either or
both of these sources actually have carried the chimes?
TIA.
