According to a posting on the uk-radio-listeners
egroup, Fred Trueman was first heard summarising on Test Match Special for the
England-Pakistan game at Headingly, Leeds in July 1974. The message refers
to the book "Ball-by-Ball" by Christopher Martin-Jenkins, which lists test
matches and the radio and television commentators thereon.
