Former Test Match Special Summariser (among many
other things) Fred Trueman has died at the age of 75 from lung
cancer.
After retiring from playing, Fred joined the Test
Match Special Team in 1975, and remained with them for over 20 years.
During some of this period parts of TMS were also heard on BBC World Service, as
well as being carried on special frequencies in its entirety. Fred also
appeared on Desert Island Discs in 1978.
