I have gotten myself on their mailing list and have received two mailings
from the show recently. One envelope contained a 2006 VOA calendar
and program guide.

I'm surprised! I thought that the VOA stopped sending *anything* to domestic
US addresses via postal mail some years ago. We couldn't even get schedules
in print form.
Did they resume sending stuff out officially or do correspondents with US
postal
addresses sometimes get things and usually not, or does it depend on what
office or program-producer within the VOA you are corresponding with, or
perhaps if the writer states that he is within the US temporarily but
really is a foreign resident?
With the budget difficulties, I'm surprised that the VOA would have loosened
the restrictions. I thought that they used the no-domestic-distribution
legal restriction they operate under as a justification to basically ignore
any
US-citizen communications. (Maybe this was an "official" attitude but the
real people producing the programs appreciated audience response even
if it was from someone not in the target audience?)
