Is there any indication of when the Canadian service might launch which would then allow carriage of the Canadian content here in the States.

Indeed, I believe it is part of the deal: Canadians exporting their 
content to the US.  This is why the Canadian music industry was so 
supportive in its comments to the CRTC.
